I am realy paranoid that i have PCOS although i have no symptoms at all. I am 24 but my family has a history of PCOS (on my mothers side). How much of an issue is this ~ what do people think and especially has anyone else suffering from this>?

Hiya. Well I'm totally convinced I have this too and have wondered since i was 18 am now 24 like u. A prof while testing for cortisol said i "probably" have it but id only find out when i wanted to conceive! recently this has annoyed me i'd rather know as not know. In Oct another Dr a diabetes consultant mentioned it also and i was interested to read the pcos and diabetes are linked: one can lead to other. just gotta wait til he contacts my gp and they can test hormone levels. Anyhow you're prob ok, at the very least u gotta have irregular periods IMO. Hope u get the reassurance u need soon

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I'm still waiting on diagnosis. Getting tests later this month but i dont hold out much hope cause hormones from contraception im using will prob give false readings.
Nothing could taste as good as being slim feels.

Hi, my gp believes that I have pcos, my symptoms are irregular periods, excess body hair, acne and weight problems but they wont test me and give me a definite diagnosis because I have already had my children and pcos is not affecting my fertility!!! Tracey

reading your post feels like reading about my own life. me and my husband have been trying for children for 6 years now, i have PCOS, overweight and an underactive thyroid, odds stacked very against me. docs are not very helpful just blame everything on my weight and i just wanna shout 'hello i am trying to do something about it' but when you eat half of what 'normal' ppl eat and still dont lose weight its very dis heartning, having a family of my own would be my dream come true, but as each year passes and no periods arrive the dream seems futher away. im 30 in december and have decided if i am not pregnant by the time im 35 im not guna bother. so dont feel like you are the only one in the world that isnt pregnant because if you are like me the thought has probably crossed your mind, it hurts like hell every day, but please dont ever think you are alone i did for many years and it did me no good at all!! i hope your dreams come true one day. xxx
