hiya. my friend had the same problem. i think that it is all because of the abnormal hormonal changes that have been occurring in your body. it ought to settle down within a few months as it did for my friend. a good method to prevent hair loss is to take saw palmetto or zinc. whatever you do dont take any propecia that men take like my ex-boyfriend did. i was strictly forbidden to touch it as he kept telling me. it ought to pass though love. Hiya Lucy, I know your supposed to loose so much hair with your hormonal changes as Perky said, It's normal & is supposed to grow back & get back to normal when you've had the baby. I'd talk to your midwife or doc if you are really worried though, Take care, Sam

Hi,dont wory hun i went through exactly the same as u,i went 2 docs,i thought i had alopicia!! It is because when you are pregnant your hair does get a bit thicker and when you have your baby your hormones change and all the hair you did gain falls out!! It does grow back and you will get all your new hair!! If it is really bad and you feel really self consious about it you could try hair extensions. Hope this helps. Jade xxx

I also lost a lot of my hair after I gave birth to my first baby 7 months ago. I am breastfeeding, therefore Im not allowed to take any kind of medication, so as you can imagine I was going crazy. I decided to keep taking my prenatal pills and for some crazy reason my hair started to grow like crazy. this worked for me but on the other hand, my husband uses propecia and it works pretty good on him. I guess everything works different for everyone.

Don worry! After your baby is born, your hair will grow back and it is get better texture and look healthier… just make sure that you drink milk and multivitamins. If you going to breastfeed, try to ask your pharmacist for multivitamins for pregnant women
