hey there
I am desperatley trying to stop smoking and my gp has recommended champix to help me quit. Now heres my problem, smoking is the only thing that keeps my weight off and im worried that by stopping, im gonna get fat!
Ive smoked since i was a kid - so this is a long time smokin!! I reckon i smoke about 20 cigs a day, more at the weekend or if my kids stress me out. is there another pill i can take to loose weight at same time? anybody else in the same boat???

But you are not going to get fat unless you eat more?

So just have some will power and don't eat more. Im sure this sounds
naive, but it just makes sense to me.

I'm on Champix and I gave up smoking itself four days ago. Im not
reaching for the fridge, but maybe thats because Im a bloke.

Dont take more pills if you don't have to?

Digger's taking up exercise at the very distinguished age of 70.

Why don't you try focusing on getting fit?

Or - did you see my post on hypnotherapy to curb you appetite? Have a
look...

Cindy,

well done, I have been following your posts through out the forum.  The posts I was referring to are still in this forum, either in general smoking or champix.

Am pleased you are exercising more. Keep it up and let us know your progress on the smoking.

Houghton.

hey there
thanks guys for all your supportive posts, im doin really well on the champix. still smoking a bit, but nowhere near as many as i was! plus i think the cravings are getting more manageble each day, not gone entirley but getting there!
Scotty, I started working out with a personal trainer this week, and flippin heck! I am still sore! She has also given me some food ideas to go with for the next four weeks, really good tips about healthy snacking, cos thats where i reckon the weight will creep on is reaching for chocolate and biccies instead of where id have a cig!!
cheers though all and hope all is going well for you?
