Hi there!! I'm 47 and I smoked since I was 15, trust me! I'm not proud of it,my wife always advised me to quit and I did try many times but I couldn't and now it became a major problem because my son was diagnosied with asthma in second hand, it is obviously my fault because I'm the onlyone how smokes in my house. I don't know what to do! everytime my baby gets sick I feel horrible but unfortunatly all this situasion is stressing me out and I'm smoking even more. Any advise is wellcome

Hi there Trumps, I don't know whether you have had a chance to read other posts in this forum but i would suggest that you do! I have smoked since i was about 15 as well and I came on this site to read about Champix and the other drugs that are available to help stop smoking because i wanted to see what was out there. I was concerned about the cost and the side effects etc and after reading many articles and getting feedback from people here i started my course of Champix about 2 months ago. I haven't had a cigarette in 6 weeks and i can't believe it. Mentally i was ready to quit but felt weak. I am so pleased that i haven't had one in so long that i can't imagine smoking. Read the articles that the Dude (he is an administrator on here) posts and you'll see what can happen. If you really want to quit and help your son then please don't pass on having a read. Let me know how you get on. Kindest regards, Cheryl

please excuse my bluntness but i cannot just read what i have and not say anything. If you really have to ask the question what should i do then you area very selfish person. Your son has asthma beacuase of you. To me that is so very selfish. From your 2nd hand smoke he has developed this illness. Don't you have the decency to smoke outside at least. There is no question that you must stop smoking around your son. If you really do care then seek medical advice and get on the Champix and prove that you are sorry. If i were you i would be ashamed.

ok, I completely understand why people get upset with me and I also agree with you guys, I was selfish and stubborn. I just took my first dose of Champix today and I'm excited with the idea that is something there for me to change in order to make my family life better and also make myself happy. , all I want is to see them happy and healhty.
