Hi all
Just found this forum so thought I will be good to join in. I started taking Champix 2 weeks ago and my quit date was 1 March. I have slipped today and had 2 cigarettes. Feel very disappointed in myself. How did everybody else cope in the first week after quit date

Hi Jennie and welcome. I slipped after my quit date, a couple of times actually, and I think if you trawl through the other posts on here you'll find it's not unusual. The main thing is not to stop trying because you think you've failed or can't do it. Stick with it - one day at a time.
Keep checking in here because this forum is the best thing for support - we're all going through it.
Very best of luck!
Kaz

alright!
Jennie...dont stress yourself out, we all have blip days whether we like it or not - we gotta not punish ourselves and just jump back on the wagon. Take each day as it comes and yes as Kazzle said, come on here, this forum has been brilliant for me.
im not taking champix but stopped smoking in feb, ive had some awful bad days but you know what, we are all human and aint perfect.
we are all in the same boat and this forum is great for support!
keep going and remember to keep smiling!

Hi Jennie and Lins
Re the blips, one thing I can tell you is that when I've been in a 'danger' situation (like having a few drinks) and haven't blipped, I feel so proud of myself. I'm actually feeling that way today because I had drinks with friends last night and, although I'm feeling a tad seedy, I'm really happy that I didn't smoke.
Guess it's about hanging on to the positives ...
How are you going Lins mate? Are you well? I reckon you're a champion for doing it CT.
Cheers
Kaz

Hi all
i havent had a "blip" but never say never!! i went out for the first time since stopping smoking on sat night, went for a curry and drinks in town with 8 friends, 3 of which were smokers, i was aware of them nipping out to smoke and smelt it on them when they came back in and i thought i might be tempted to "scrounge" a cig but to my amazement i just wasnt bothered so pretty chuffed, i now know i can go out and drink and not want a cig.  My hangover wasnt as bad as when i smoked either!  TRACY

Hi Jennie, my advice would be stick with it, and as much as you can to
begin with - dont drink! At the beginning I'd go to the pub and have a
ginger beer. I did have a blow out one night and really suffered bad
dreams and strange behaviour. So I've stayed away from booze. Which I
think has helped with reducing cravings quickly.

alright!
sorry not been in this forum for ages! So didnt even see your post Kaz...it aint been easy by any means at all, i have really struggled hence the blips that went on so far for a total of 2 weeks. But like you say, focus on the positives and take each day as it comes, thats all i been doing really. The other thing whichh is a bit sad, is ive had to not see any of my really good friends cos they all still smoke and i know that if im around them, i will wanna smoke again. So trying to do other things to keep me occupied. I even ran at the weekend, 20 mins with a horridble sticht but i did it and weas well pleased!
Ive not been out drinking tho! too scared right now!
