when any of you finished your course of champix have you been left with the taste of metal as I have. I still havent smoked but just trying to find out if this has happened to anyone else and if they got rid of it.

That copper taste can happen, its a common side efffect. Why dont you try rinsing with Corsodryl, its a strong mouthwash that should help with the taste. Or just chew normal gum. Depends how long you've been smoking for, and what effect its had on the taste buds.

Thanks Digger I have been waiting for you to answer . It has now gone as I do use the chewing gum its not so noticeable now. I packed up smoking last August and its now been 6 months like you on Champix but I had a eye-opener so had too. I have been given the all clear now which was good news as I was worried sick.I have saved all my money and boy I am loaded . Thanks for the advice and well done to you.

Sorry, I should check back more regularly. Its important that people who have been successful on the course come back on the forum and talk things through with anyone who is starting, or is going through it. Glad that the chewing gum worked for you. Were you given the all clear about cancer is that what you mean? I hope you are ok. The amount of money I've saved in the last year is amazing. I've treated my wife a few times and called it 'ciggie money'. She's getting nice little presents every once in a while. Couldnt have done it without her!

Hi Digger, Yes I had cancerous cells removed and was told that it was associated with smoking. So I had an operation last May but still didnt pack up until the August 2010 as I was worried sick about the results but then decided to do it. I was told that the cells had been removed but I wouldnt know until 6 months later if I was in the clear and thank god I was. I got the news In November by which time I had almost finished the course but I stopped the course at 10 weeks as I did have muscle spasms which were related to Champix to be honest it scared the life out of me as it never happens to you and when it did I was so shocked. I dont really fancy a cigarette at all now and to be honest after all the hard work I wouldnt touch one. Well thank you for answering I come on here just trying to support others who i trying to pack up .
