Hi I'm helen I came across this site and thought I'm joining! !!!
Anyhows I'm new to champix and I'm on day 6 of taking them and
there's a few questions I wanted to ask if you don't mind?I know
its early days but lighting up a ciggy it to me is like smoking fresh
air also a strange taste in my mouth are they normal?k now I hear
allsorts about champix ie dreams and so on I'm worry about how I
will cope with aide effects when I go on 1mg I have felt sick but
doctor gave anti sickness pills and a headache but is there
anything I should watch etc?my stop day will be 12 and I was
about 20. A day but had 8 today
If you could maybe let me know what to look out for when taking
1mg twice a day please let me know thanks

Hi helen,
Its normal for the cigarettes to taste funny. If you take champix 30 mins before food it will stop you feeling sick. I did have dreams but they were not bad just very strange ones but others may tell you different. It effects people different ways. Stick with it trust me they work I have not smoked for14 weeks now and 4 have been without champix. All the effects I have been left with now is a funny taste left in my mouth which is metalic but I cant seem to get a answer from anyone if they had it . So I think this may be just me. Make sure when you stop you put all your money in a pot its brill you can buy yourself something nice.

Hi thank-you. For the advise. I felt really. Tired. Had that urge to
sleep. Another thing my teeth felt odd carnt explain it,also waken.
Up every hour in the night is this normal?strange the other night I
kept thinking iron tablets. For some reason lol

helen,
The side effects are the risk with any medicine. Try doing it this way take one at nine in the morning and the other nine at night. The one at night used to make me feel a bit sick but then I went to bed if it was to bad. Try not to concentrate on the side effects as not everyone gets them. Honestly just bear with it loads have packed up on champix and loads havent I had been smoking since I was 11.I had muscle spasms but didnt connect it to the champix until I came off them.I was tired as welli think the taste you are getting is from the cigarettes not the champix it does linger for ages even you have a puff.
