Hi, It's been 11 days since I smoked my last cigarette and Champix has made the whole process easy (so far!) The best thing is not having that constant little voice in my head urging me to smoke, which I always got on previous attempts using other methods. Anyway, here are two pieces of advice that my Quit Smoking advisor passed on that have been really helpful: 1. Always take your morning tablet after breakfast and with a glass of milk - I've had only a tiny amount of nausea which usually passes after a minute or so. 2. Take the second tablet around 3pm (again with milk and after food) - this seems to get rid of any sleep problems which taking the tablet in the evening can bring on. It's also worth remembering if you feel low or depressed that 60% of people who give up smoking have this feeling whether they're on Champix or not, so it's not necessarily anything to do with the medication (and it's usually gone after 4 weeks). Good luck - it'll be worth it in the end!

Thanks Toddy - guess that makes you an official non-smoker in 3 days time! Congratulations!!! Did you get any strange side effects?

I used to have strange dreams very detailed not horrible , and I ended up with a neck ache that I didnt relate to the Champix until I forgot to take one but to be honest I was fine. I would never smoke again as all the hard work has been worth it. My course was for 12 weeks and I stuck to it.Now I never really fancy a cigarette and honest it still stinks.I bank the money I would have spent and just watch it going up. I know it doesnt work for every one but carry on it is worth it and your be proud of your self. I am I started smoking when I was 11 and I am now quite old and this is the only time I succeeded in doing it.So keep up the good work. On the calender put the weeks in from the day you packed up you watch how quick they go past and it sounds better when you say I havent had a cig for 3 weeksnow its better than days.
