Anyway, my question is, what are the side effects, is there long term damage he could do to another organs or something? I don;t want him to have a heart attack but i don;t want something else to happen. Any responses would be greatly appreciated! Gracias TOBYB 11-05-2009 @ 10:57 AM                           reply Member Joined: Sep 2009 Santiago, I am sure your brother's doctor will keep a close eye on how he is doing on the Crestor.  If it is stopping him from having a heart attack it is better to be on it then off.  I know that all drugs have side effect or may have long term damage but the success rate in comparison is so much more of a benefit. I think I can help, My partner is on a similar medicine to Crestor (Lipitor) for his cholesterol and he has been on it for around 6 years now, he has been absolutely fine on it but his doctor has now told him that he will move him on to Crestor as it is proven to be a safer medicine to take every day.  Believe me, High cholesterol is not something to take lightly, especially if your brother is anything like my partner with his stubborn male head!!
